Terms of use
1. This agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator named in the footer (“we”, “us”) covering the Looper website and the Looper app. By creating an account or using Looper you accept them. If you do not, do not use it.
You must be 16 or over to hold a Looper account.
2. Your account
You sign in with a passkey held on your own device, or with a link sent to your email address. Keep control of both. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and an account is for one person — do not share your sign‑in with anybody.
Give us an email address you can actually receive mail at. If we cannot reach you, we cannot warn you about a price change or send you a receipt.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Looper has a free tier and two paid tiers, Pro and Tour, at the prices shown on the pricing page in pounds sterling. A paid subscription is billed in advance, monthly or yearly as you chose, and renews automatically at the same interval until you cancel.
Payment is taken by Stripe. If a payment fails we will retry it and tell you; if it keeps failing your account drops to the free tier rather than being deleted, and your saved courses and rounds stay where they are.
If we change the price of your plan we will email you before the change is charged, in time for you to cancel first.
4. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account page. There is no notice period, no retention call, and no form to fill in explaining yourself.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your paid features run to the end of the period you have already paid for and then stop. We do not refund part months or part years, and we do not refund a period you did not get round to using.
None of that removes your legal rights as a UK consumer. If Looper was faulty, or was not as described, write to us on the support page and we will put it right.
5. If you bought through an app store
Where you subscribed inside the iOS or Android app rather than on this website, the store is the seller and holds the billing relationship. Cancellation, renewal and refunds follow that store’s terms, are managed in the store’s own subscription settings, and are not something we can process for you. Everything else in these terms still applies to your use of Looper.
6. Community tagging
Looper lets you tag and correct course geometry: tee positions, green centres, hazard edges, carry numbers. Doing that on a public course contributes to a shared record other golfers rely on, so:
- Tag what you actually observed, on the ground. Do not guess, and do not tag a course you have not been on.
- Do not upload geometry copied from another app, a paid mapping service, or any source you are not free to share. If a data licence is personal to you, import it into your own private course — Looper will keep it private — and do not publish it.
- Do not vandalise a course record, deliberately or to make a point.
- By contributing to a public course you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to use, publish and adapt that geometry within Looper. You keep whatever rights you had in it; you are not signing them away.
We can revert an edit, and can remove tagging rights from an account that abuses them.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break into the service or another golfer’s account; do not scrape, bulk‑download or resell the course data; do not resell or rebroadcast George’s audio; do not use Looper to do anything unlawful. Automated access outside the app is not permitted without our written agreement.
8. The yardages are estimates. Your shots are yours.
Looper computes distances from your phone’s GPS and from course geometry that is partly surveyed and partly contributed by other golfers. Every number Looper gives you is an estimate. GPS drifts under trees and against buildings. Geometry can be out of date, or wrong. Wind readings come from a weather service, not from the flag in front of you.
George gives an opinion about a golf shot. He is a voice, not a professional adviser, and he does not know your lie, your nerves, or the group waiting on the tee behind you. The club you pull and the shot you hit are your decision and your responsibility — including for the score you write down, and for anyone or anything the ball goes near. Look before you hit. Do not use the app while driving a buggy, and keep your eyes on the course rather than the screen.
9. The rules of golf
Distance measuring is permitted in most competitions under the Model Local Rule, but advice on club selection and line is not. Using George’s strategy features in a competition may breach the rules. It is your job, not ours, to know your committee’s local rules and to switch the strategy off when they require it.
10. Availability
We do our best to keep Looper up and the course data right, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption, and features change. If we retire something material from a paid tier we will tell subscribers first.
11. Liability
Looper is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost strokes, lost matches, lost bets or lost golf balls, or for loss arising from an inaccurate yardage or a piece of course geometry someone else contributed.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close a paid account for a breach that is not your fault, we refund the unused part.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
If we change these terms we will post the new version here with a new date, and email account holders about anything significant before it takes effect.
